The words “powerhouse,” “charismatic,” “Diva” and “Dynamo” are often bandied about when describing talented female vocalists and performers, but few are more deserving of such accolades as thirteen-time Blues Music Award nominee, Trudy Lynn. She has received the Living Legend Blues Award from the Houston Blues Society and the Willie Mitchell Lifetime Artist Award from the Jus’ Blues Music Foundation. Lynn is nominated for “Soul Blues Female” in the 43rd Blues Music Awards.
On the eve of her 75th birthday and 57th year in show business, Lynn is set to release her 18th full length album Golden Girl. Living legend Trudy Lynn’s new album is eleven tracks of R&B, soul-blues, and torch songs that find this powerhouse full of fire and sass that first earned her attention and acclaim on the Houston music scene. Lynn has more cause to celebrate as she recently signed with Nola Blue Records.
“It’s all about the beauty of being a Golden Girl ~ lots of class, sass and pizzaz to last. A gift from God and I’m enjoying every moment of it.” ~Trudy Lynn, “The Golden Girl”
Trudy Lynn‘s Birthday Blast is Friday, August 5th.
