We all know and love Evelyn Rubio, her incandescent vocals and saxophone matched by her charisma, how she effortlessly flows from Blues to Ballad to Torch. We all know this, but tonight is about her keyboardist, William Hollis.

William is celebrating his Birthday with us, which we consider a great honor. His musical history is extensive and distinguished. Born in Arkansas, it was in Battle Creek where the young William developed his talent. Moves to Chicago and Detroit widened his opportunities, culminating in ’81 with his arrival in Houston.  The list of Legends he’s played with is staggering: Junior Walker, Al Green, Tyrone Davis, Millie Jackson, Denise LaSalle, Lonnie Brooks,  The Chairmen of the Board, Enchantment, Oscar Perry, Pete Mayes, Guitar Shorty, Joe “Guitar” Hughes, Grady Gaines, Lavelle White, and the Late, Great Texas Johnny Brown. A resume like that deserves a celebration.

Evelyn Rubio and William Hollis appear Saturday, August 13th.
